6 Ways Our Global Chefs Spice Up The Grill

It's officially grilling season. To provide inspiration for your summer barbecues, we tapped into our chefs around the world to learn their favorite McCormick grilling products, tips and tricks for maximum flavor, and how you can chow down with international flair.

1. "In the UK, grilling is better known as barbecuing. Over the past few years, the barbecue trend has been heating up in the UK with American techniques like low 'n slow cooked meats, which taste great with South Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce made from French's Classic Yellow Mustard, cider vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce." -  Ian Craddock, Senior Research Chef, EMEA Culinary

2. "Grilling is well-known in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. 'Paggang' is a frequently-used Malay phrase, and refers to dices of meat on bamboo sticks and grilled over a wood or charcoal fire. I recommend marinating the chicken cubes in McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Chicken Seasoning with a dash of oil. Give it an Asian flair by adding a pinch of McCormick Ground Turmeric." - Jonathan Tan, Culinary Development Chef, McCormick Southeast Asia

3. "I spent many years in Texas, so I’m partial to rubs that let the meat speak for itself. Cattlemen’s Cowboy Rub is a great versatile seasoning. Use it alone to let your meat shine or incorporate it into sauces." - Nicole Bostic, Research Chef II, McCormick Americas

4. "In Southeast Asian countries, we love marinating different kinds of meat and grilling over a charcoal fire at medium heat, so they are juicy on the inside and have a nice crust on the outside. Add a Thai touch by mixing McCormick Grill Mates Chilli & Pepper BBQ Sauce with chopped lemongrass, coriander roots, garlic, and McCormick Ground Turmeric, and marinate the chicken overnight." - Tawinkarn Ariyavaradhorn, Research Chef, McCormick Thailand

5. "Use McCormick Adobo Classic Recipe Mix to make Adobo, a classic Filipino comfort food. This recipe mix is best used as a rub for meats before you grill, and it helps to create that nostalgic, savory taste of mom's adobo dish with a smokey flavor." - Johan Movido, Innovations Manager - Flavor Solutions, McCormick Philippines

6. "Barbecue in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe is primarily an amazing variety of dishes: meat, poultry, fish, sausages, black pudding, and above all, colourful shashliks which always express the culinary character of the host. KAMIS offers a whole range of seasoning mixes." - Maciej Wawryniuk, Culinary Advisor, McCormick Poland
