  1. Roles & Responsibilities
    • The Management Committee is responsible for:
      • Ensuring this policy is understood, effectively communicated and implemented throughout McCormick
      • Overall compliance with this policy
    • The Global Safety, Health and Environmental Director is responsible for:
      • Ensuring that all safety, health and environmental policies, programs and procedures deliver against this policy and are compliant with regulations.
    • All McCormick employees are responsible for:
      • Understanding the impacts of this policy
      • Meeting the commitments contained within the policy
      • Following appropriate safety, health and environmental work practices to ensure the protection of our people, the planet and our communities.
      • Report any safety, health or environmental concerns to management.

  2. Policy Content:
    At McCormick & Company, Inc., protecting the safety, health, and well-being of our people and safeguarding the environment in which we operate is a core value and fundamental to how we do business. The Global Safety, Health and Environmental Director is responsible for:

  • Culture & Accountability – Foster a positive and proactive culture that empowers every employee to take ownership and accountability for safety, health, and environmental (SHE) performance.

  • Unified Framework – Maintain a globally integrated system for managing SHE practices, aligned with McCormick values and informed by industry-leading standards.

  • Risk Prevention – Identify, assess, and eliminate or minimize potential safety, health, and environmental risks across our products, services, and operations.

  • Compliance & Beyond – Meet or exceed all applicable legal, regulatory, and McCormick SHE requirements everywhere we operate.

  • Capability Building – Equip all employees with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to actively support and implement this policy.
  • Performance Improvement – Monitor, evaluate, and continuously enhance our SHE performance through measurable objectives and regular review.
  • Resource Commitment – Allocate appropriate resources to ensure effective implementation and sustainability of this policy.
  • Metrics & Accountability – Develop and use meaningful metrics to track progress, drive improvement, and ensure transparency in our SHE performance.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with contractors, suppliers, customers, and communities to collectively reduce the overall safety, health, and environmental impact of our value chain.
