Brand Highlight: Billy Bee

In honor of National Honey Month, get to know one of our signature Canadian products: Billy Bee!

Founded in 1958 as a small family operation, today Billy Bee Honey Products is Canada's largest honey business sourcing honey from producers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Billy Bee has a commitment to not only sourcing the best honey, but also protecting the bees who produce it. Honey manufactured by Billy Bee is 100% pure, contains no additives and is packaged to ensure its quality and signature sweetness. That quality starts with the beekeepers, and Billy Bee is a proud participant in the True Source Honey™ Certification program that ensures all our suppliers are traceable and the origins of their honey are as transparent as possible.

Protecting populations of bees is as important for honey as it is for other crops and animals. Three-quarters of the global human food supply relies on bees and other pollinators for successful harvest. This includes the fruits and vegetables we love, and the feed farmers rely upon to raise livestock.

Billy Bee recognizes the importance of cultivating and sustaining a healthy honey bee population. As such, the company sponsors the Honey Bee Research Centre at the University of Guelph. This sponsorship enables essential and priority funding research for the health and well-being of honey bee populations across the country and around the world.

Sustaining and further developing the global honey bee population is no easy task – it requires teamwork from those involved in the production of honey and other products. Through participating in conferences and in research efforts, Billy Bee remains committed to a sustainable future for honey and the honey bees that are essential to the food we love.
