Lawrence Kurzius is Chairman, President, and CEO of McCormick & Company. Since joining McCormick in 2003, Mr. Kurzius has held many executive management roles, including: President – U.S. Consumer Foods; President – Europe, Middle East and Africa; President - International Businesses; President – Global Consumer and Chief Administrative Officer; and President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Kurzius was promoted to CEO in February 2016. He was also elected to the company’s Board of Directors in November 2015 and Chairman of the Board in 2016.
Mr. Kurzius joined McCormick through the acquisition of Zatarain’s, where he spent 12 years and was President and CEO. Prior to his work at Zatarain’s, he also served as a marketing executive with the Quaker Oats Company and Mars Inc.’s Uncle Ben’s Company.
Mr. Kurzius graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
Mr. Kurzius serves on the boards of multiple industry and not-for-profit groups, including: The Business Round Table, Consumer Brands Association, Consumer Goods Forum, The National Association of Manufacturers, the Greater Baltimore Committee, and the National Sporting Library & Museum. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Elanco Animal Health, Inc.
Mike Smith is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of McCormick & Company, Inc. In this role, he leads Controllership, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Analysis, Global Business Improvement, Risk and Internal Audit for the company. He is also a member of McCormick’s Management Committee and Investment Committee.
Mr. Smith joined McCormick in 1991, and most recently served as Senior Vice President Corporate Finance. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President Capital Markets and Chief Financial Officer for North America, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance for EMEA, Vice President Treasury and Investor Relations, Vice President Finance and Administration for U.S. Consumer Products, Vice President Finance for the U.S. Industrial Group, Director of Corporate Accounting, Corporate Financial Planning Manager and Plant Controller for McCormick’s Hunt Valley, Md.-based manufacturing facility.
Prior to joining McCormick, Mr. Smith began his career in public accounting at Coopers and Lybrand.
Mr. Smith graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA degree in Accountancy. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
He serves on the boards of several not-for-profit groups, including Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Herman Miller, Inc.
Lisa Manzone is McCormick’s Sr. Vice President, Human Relations. In her role, she is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s global people strategy. Her responsibilities also include total rewards, learning and development, organization effectiveness and communication, organization development, succession planning, talent strategy, diversity and inclusion, wellness, and employee relations. She serves as Secretary to the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors and is a member of McCormick’s Management and Investment Committees.
Ms. Manzone began her career at McCormick in 2007 and has held roles of increasing responsibility within the Human Relations organization, including: Vice President, Global Human Relations; Vice President, Compensation and Benefits; Vice President, Human Relations U.S. Consumer Products Division; and Vice President, Human Relations Flavor Solutions.
Prior to her tenure at McCormick, Ms. Manzone was the Vice President, Human Resources for JLG Industries, a $2.8 billion global access equipment company in Hagerstown, MD, where she was responsible for the global Human Resources function. Ms. Manzone also previously held Human Resource leadership positions for two automotive suppliers - ArvinMeritor, Inc and AlliedSignal Automotive.
Ms. Manzone holds a Bachelor of Science in Employee Relations, as well as a Master of Labor and Industrial Relations, both from Michigan State University. Ms. Manzone is the chair of the WYPR Board of Directors, where she has served on the Board since 2017. She is also a member of McCormick’s Charitable Donations Committee and is an Emeritus member of the Global Multiple Management Board.
Malcolm Swift is McCormick’s President, Global Flavor Solutions, EMEA and Chief Administrative Officer. In his role, he is responsible for leading McCormick’s Flavor Solutions business globally as well as the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Region. Mr. Swift also oversees the McCormick’s Corporate Communications, Corporate Development, Global Quality, Corporate Strategy, IT, Global Enablement and Program LEO organizations as well as the company’s Sustainability Strategy. He is a member of McCormick’s Management Committee and Chairman of the Global Flavor Solutions and Purpose-led Performance Councils.
Most recently, he served as President - Global Flavor Solutions and McCormick International. Mr. Swift has also held other roles of increasing responsibility within McCormick, including: President, EMEA and Asia Pacific and President, EMEA.
Prior to joining McCormick in 2005, Mr. Swift held various leadership positions at companies across Europe, including: Mars, Diageo plc as Managing Director of the European Division of Guinness Brewing; Time Warner, Inc. as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the EMEA Consumer Products Division; and Hero AG as Chief Executive of the Baking Division, with responsibilities in Europe and North America.
Mr. Swift holds a First Class Honours degree from Aberystwyth University. He serves as President of the Board of the European Brands Association (AIM); as an Independent Director to the Board of Devro Plc and as Chairman of the Governors of Caldicott School.
Brendan Foley is McCormick’s President, Global Consumer, Americas and Asia. In his role, he is responsible for the management of the U.S. Consumer and Flavor Solutions businesses as well as McCormick’s Canadian, Latin America and Asia businesses. He also oversees the Americas Human Relations, Quality and Finance organizations. Mr. Foley is a member of McCormick’s Management Committee and leads the Global Consumer Strategy Council.
Mr. Foley joined McCormick in June 2014 as President, U.S. Consumer Division and was promoted to President, North America on June 1, 2015. He was named President - Global Consumer and Americas in December 2017.
Prior to his tenure at McCormick, Mr. Foley served as Zone President for H.J. Heinz North America. During his 15 years at Heinz, he served as President for the U.S. Consumer Products business and the U.S. Foodservice business. He also held various leadership roles in Marketing and Brand Management across a wide portfolio of products. Prior to joining H.J. Heinz, Mr. Foley worked in Marketing for General Mills, Inc., and Ketchum Advertising.
Mr. Foley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Miami University of Ohio. He is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Maryland Food Bank.
Jeffery Schwartz is McCormick’s Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. In his role, he has responsibility for the Company’s Legal function. Mr. Schwartz joined McCormick in 2008 as Associate Counsel, later became Associate General Counsel in 2011 until he assumed his present responsibilities in December 2014.
Prior to joining McCormick, Mr. Schwartz was in private practice at law firms in Washington, DC and Moscow, Russia.
Mr. Schwartz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University, an MBA from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, and a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law at American University.
