What is the McCormick® Flavor Forecast® report?

Since its launch in 2000, the McCormick Flavor Forecast has explored what is shaping the future of flavor globally, to pinpoint trends, both close in and far out. The annual report uncovers three trends and a Flavor of the Year. We’ve defined flavors and influenced trends, predicting everything from chipotle and pumpkin pie spice to ube, Korean BBQ, and swicy.

For 2026, we’re celebrating Black Currant as the Flavor of the Year- a vibrant berry known for its tart-yet-sweet taste. This “it” berry is inspired by the latest trends in our report: 1) Attainable  Opulence, 2) Simple to Spectacular, and 3) Sauce from Somewhere. Watch the video to learn more!
