Meet One of the Leaders Driving Growth for McCormick's Consumer Business in Canada

Shabir Sarker, North America Customer Team Director, has been a strong contributor to the industry throughout his career. He joined McCormick in 2017 and has held a variety of industry roles for other CPG companies.

Since becoming part of our McCormick Team, Shabir has driven growth for our Consumer business and demonstrated strong, inspirational team leadership. Some of his accomplishments include getting French’s Ketchup on grocery shelves across Canada and helping to transform this once stagnant brand into a market leader with a devoted fan base. He also launched McCormick’s revenue management department and developed an innovative planning tool for the Consumer Sales Team to help better serve our customers. 

“McCormick’s been an excellent place to work and build my career. I’ve had the opportunity to lead different projects, meet new people and learn new skills," said Shabir. "I’m looking forward to growing our business to new heights nationally.” 

Shabir recently earned the “Generation Next Award 2022” from Canadian Grocer as a testament to his talent and passion for his work. This prestigious annual award recognizes up-and-coming leaders under 40 who have demonstrated a passionate commitment to the industry through significant achievements, innovation, and leadership.

When he’s not working, Shabir enjoys time with his wife Afsana and children Adam and Aliya. He caught the travel bug while doing an international exchange in university and has visited nearly 40 different countries and counting. He’s looking forward to his next trip to Morocco later this year. If he’s not traveling for business or pleasure, he’s likely at home in Mississauga spending time with his family. He enjoys hiking, entertaining friends and family, playing sports and checking out new local restaurants.
