Meet Alphonse Llacer, Who Has Dedicated 37 Years of his Career to McCormick France

Alphonse Llacer, McCormick France

Alphonse Llacer joined McCormick France in 1987, and 37 years later, he says he’s still happy to walk into work every day. During his time at McCormick, he’s worked in various positions and at various locations from Carpentras and Monteux to Portugal and Poland.

Alphonse appreciates that he’s gained experience across several professions. As a courier, technician, operations manager, maintenance manager, and project manager, he has managed production teams, ensured that production lines are as reliable as possible, and set up new facilities throughout Europe.

Today, he oversees maintenance at the Monteux plant, which has multiple production lines that cater for markets all around the world.

Over the past 37 years, production and maintenance have evolved considerably. Alphonse works diligently to be preventive and even predictive, to optimize production line stoppages as much as possible.

In the past, technical breakdowns were mainly mechanical or electrical. Today, all machines are highly automated, computerized, and networked. Skills have had to be adapted to meet these needs, and Alphonse has witnessed the creation of new professions such as automation engineers, network engineers, and electrical engineers.

Alphonso has seen first-hand the positive influence made by McCormick since Ducros and Vahine joined the brand family over 20 years ago.

“Wellbeing at work wasn't an important notion before, but today it's indispensable,” said Alphonse. “Each person is considered and can share his or her opinion. Today, everyone is recognized as having something to contribute. Their opinions count!”

Thank you, Alphonse, for your commitment to McCormick!
