Elizabeth Taylor thrives on going above and beyond. In her role as McCormick Tax Compliance Manager in Europe, Middle East and Africa, she provides an invaluable service for colleagues across the region in countries as geographically diverse as Russia and South Africa.
Since arriving at McCormick in October 2015, Elizabeth has got involved in all facets of the business and her bold approach and can-do attitude have made a significant impact.
Elizabeth explains: “Tax touches so many parts of our company from the innovation pipeline to manufacturing and customer relationships and it can be a complicated subject. Colleagues often need help in understanding and interpreting our tax obligations and that’s where I come in.
“I love building strong connections, sharing my experiences and perspectives, and helping people find the right solutions. It’s important we don’t shy away from making important decisions and it’s great to be a key part of that process.”
Elizabeth brings this same energy and enthusiasm to her personal passions. One of those is fundraising for a cause close to her heart. Seven years ago, Elizabeth was diagnosed with cancer and received amazing treatment and support at her local hospital. One of her biggest challenges was losing her hair and the hospital’s wig service was critical in giving her the confidence to carry on at a very difficult time.
Fully recovered she was determined to give something meaningful back to the organisation which had saved her life and that led to a dramatic style change! Earlier this month, Elizabeth had her head shaved at work and raised more than £1,300 for the hospital wig service.
“When I was ill, having no hair was so difficult to come to terms with. It just shows how far I have come that I could lose my locks again, but this time do it with a smile. The support and encouragement I received from everyone at McCormick was amazing and it means the world to me to have raised so much money.”
