Since joining McCormick in 2003, Mr. Kurzius has held many executive management roles, including President – U.S. Consumer Foods; President – Europe, Middle East and Africa; President - International Businesses; President – Global Consumer and Chief Administrative Officer; and President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Kurzius was promoted to CEO in February 2016. He joined the Board of Directors in November 2015 and was elected Chairman of the Board, effective February 2017.
Mr. Kurzius joined McCormick through the acquisition of Zatarain’s, where he spent 12 years and was President and CEO. He also served as a marketing executive with the Quaker Oats Company and Mars Inc.’s Uncle Ben’s Company.
Mr. Kurzius graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
Mr. Kurzius serves on the Board of Directors of Elanco Animal Health, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, National Association of Manufacturers, the Greater Baltimore Committee, the National Sporting Library & Museum and a trustee of Jacksonville University.
Lisa Manzone is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s global people strategy. Her responsibilities include benefits, learning and development, organisation development, succession planning, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, safety, wellness and employee relations. She serves as secretary to the compensation committee of the board of directors and is a member of McCormick’s Management Committee.
Ms. Manzone joined McCormick in 2007 and most recently served as Vice President, Global Human Relations. She previously was Vice President, Compensation and Benefits; Vice President, Human Relations U.S. Consumer Products Division; and Vice President, Human Relations U.S. Industrial Group.
Prior to McCormick, Ms. Manzone was the Vice President, Human Resources for JLG Industries, a $2.8 billion global access equipment company in Hagerstown, MD, where she was responsible for the global human resources function. Previous to this position, Ms. Manzone held human resource leadership positions for two automotive suppliers, ArvinMeritor, Inc. and AlliedSignal Automotive.
Ms. Manzone was born and raised in Michigan and is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in employee relations as well as a Master of Labor and Industrial Relations. Ms. Manzone serves as the vice chair of the board of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland. She is also a member of McCormick’s Charitable Donations and Investment committees and is an emeritus member of the Global Multiple Management Board.
Mr. Swift oversees McCormick’s business in China, the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, and Asia-Pacific. He is also a member of McCormick’s Management Committee and the chairman of the Global Industrial Strategy Council. Mr. Swift joined McCormick in January 2005 as Vice President, Consumer Group for EMEA. He was appointed President of EMEA in 2008 and President of EMEA and Asia-Pacific in 2014.
Prior to joining McCormick, Mr. Swift worked in various leadership positions at companies in Europe including Mars, Inc.; Diageo PLC as Managing Director of the European Division of Guinness Brewing; Time Warner, Inc. as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the EMEA Consumer Products Division; and Hero AG as Chief Executive of the Baking division with responsibilities in Europe and North America.
Mr. Swift holds a First Class Honours Degree from the University of Wales in Great Britain. He is an independent director to the board of Devro PLC, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of collagen products for the food industry. He is Chairman of the Governors of Caldicott School, a leading boy’s preparatory school in Buckinghamshire, UK; a freeman of the City of London; and a liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Butchers, one of the oldest livery companies in the City of London.
Brendan Foley is responsible for the U.S. Consumer Division, U.S. Industrial Division, Canadian and Central America businesses. He also oversees the Americas Human Relations, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance organisations. Mr. Foley is a member of McCormick’s Management Committee and leads the Global Consumer Strategy Council.
Mr. Foley joined McCormick in June 2014 as President, U.S. Consumer Division. In June 2015, he was named President, North America. Prior to joining McCormick, Mr. Foley served as Zone President for H.J. Heinz North America. During his 15 years at Heinz, he served as President for the U.S. Consumer Products business and the U.S. food service business, and held leadership roles in marketing and brand management across a wide portfolio of products. Prior to joining H.J. Heinz, Mr. Foley worked in marketing for General Mills, Inc. and Ketchum Advertising.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mr. Foley earned a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from Miami University of Ohio. He also serves on the board of the Maryland Food Bank.
Jeffrey Schwartz is responsible for the company’s legal function. Mr. Schwartz joined McCormick in 2008 as Associate Counsel, became Associate General Counsel in 2011, and assumed his present responsibilities in December 2014.
Prior to joining McCormick, Mr. Schwartz was in private practice at law firms in Washington, DC, and Moscow, Russia.
Mr. Schwartz earned his law degree at American University’s Washington College of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Nneka Rimmer is responsible for shaping corporate strategies and leading the delivery of strategic business enablers and value-producing business services across the enterprise. In this role, she examines the current portfolio of business, formulates growth strategies, and works to increase economic added value. Ms. Rimmer provides strategic direction for mergers and acquisitions and shaping the corporate-wide portfolio strategy. In addition, she oversees McCormick’s Global Enablement, Information Technology, Corporate Development (M&A) and Corporate Strategy teams. Ms. Rimmer joined McCormick in March 2015 and is a member of the Management Committee.
Previously, Ms. Rimmer was a Partner and Managing Director with the Boston Consulting Group. While at Boston Consulting Group for 13 years, she executed large-scale transformation initiatives, working with large, global consumer goods corporations. Her areas of strategic expertise included trade, competition, international growth, go-to-market and organisational development.
She began her career with Motorola in the Semiconductor Products Sector. She was a product development consultant for the George Group and a strategy consultant for EthnicGrocer.com. Ms. Rimmer has a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Stanford University, an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a JD from Northwestern University School of Law.
Mike Smith leads Controllership, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Analysis, Global Business Improvement and Internal Audit for the company. He is also a member of McCormick’s Management Committee.
Mr. Smith joined McCormick in 1991, and most recently served as Senior Vice President Corporate Finance. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President, Capital Markets and Chief Financial Officer for North America; Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance for EMEA; Vice President, Treasury and Investor Relations; Vice President, Finance and Administration for U.S. Consumer Products; Vice President, Finance for the U.S. Industrial Group; Director of Corporate Accounting; Corporate Financial Planning Manager; and Plant Controller for McCormick’s Hunt Valley, MD-based manufacturing facility.
Prior to joining McCormick, Mr. Smith began his career in public accounting at Coopers and Lybrand. Mr. Smith graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA degree in accountancy. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves on the board of directors for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
