A decade ago, the Company developed a formal approach to diversity with the creation of the McCormick Diversity Council. The Council’s role is to recommend, guide and monitor initiatives to help the Company maintain an inclusive environment that values differences and the dignity of all employees.
After the creation of the Council, a significant step took place when a diversity awareness training program was inaugurated and has since expanded with many McCormick employees learning the many facets of diversity.
The Council communicates the diversity message in a number of ways. Since its inception, the Council has held special events with guest speakers bringing compelling perspectives about diversity to our employee groups. The Company is a two-time winner of the James Rouse Diversity Award named for the internationally known civic planner.
